T4THOMAS 2022

We are pleased to announce that the Thomas Marshall Education Fund (TMEF) is planning to hold an all-day garden party again at Chantry Cottage this year.

Our traditional T4Thomas Garden Party is usually scheduled for early June to coincide with Thomas’ birthday but that was reorganised to a home delivery service in 2020 and rescheduled to 31st July last year owing to the Covid restrictions. However, we have set a date of Sunday 12th June this year to welcome everyone back to the lovely garden at Chantry Cottage.

We cordially invite you to join us for our annual T4Thomas in the garden of Chantry Cottage on Sunday 12th June 2022 from 10.30am until 4.30pm. Bacon rolls will be served from 11am, lunch from noon and tea and cake all day long.

We would love to welcome you to this friendly occasion this year.

Check out this video of the preparations for the 2019 T4Thomas

Despite the various restrictions during 2021 we organised a number of very lucrative, well attended and enjoyable events.

Our friends Rust and Stardust and the Head and staff of Orford and Bawdsey Schools worked hard to ensure that, subject to COVID rules, the Thomas Marshall Education Fund collaboration with puppet company Rust & Stardust and Orford and Bawdsey schools to present their re-scheduled project on Friday 9th July in Orford Church went ahead. Unfortunately COVID guidelines made it impossible to include the Bawdsey children in the production.

Our traditional T4Thomas Garden Party is usually scheduled for early June to coincide with Thomas’ birthday but that would have been before the date set in the Prime Minister’s roadmap for easing the restrictions on large events and performances. We, therefore, set a date of Sunday 1st August to welcome everyone back to the lovely garden at Chantry Cottage. We had a great response to our invitation and exceeded our expectations. For a report on the event visit the NEWS page.

Fumble in the Jumble was scheduled for the first Saturday in August last year, but we set a target date of Saturday 23rd October during half-term this year for the opportunity to ferret out bargains at this top quality bric a brac sale. St. Bartholomew's Church was the venue. For a report on the event visit the NEWS page.

Later in the year we organised our traditional Thomas Marshall Christmas Stall at the St. Bartholomew's Church Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 27th November but we had to cancel the return of Leiston's Band of the Royal British Legion to St Bartholomew's Church on Sunday 12th December at 3.00pm due to Covid in the band.

2022 has started strongly with a very successful Valentine's Tea on Sunday 13th February raising around £1,500.

We look forward to welcoming friends, old and new, to all our events.

If you have an idea for an event or would like to fundraise on our behalf, we'd love to hear from you!
